Let’s talk about the physics
Getting a UV lamp right is all about the details—specifically the gas mix and how pure that quartz envelope is. When we’re designing a custom tube for you, we start with the goal. Do you need UVC to kill bacteria, or UVA to cure an adhesive? Once we know that, we tweak the wattage and voltage so it plays nice with your ballast. Now, here is the trade-off: high-wattage tubes cure things faster, but they’re harder on your reflectors. You have to be careful. If the heat density gets too high, you might start warping your substrate. It’s a delicate balance.
The build quality
We use high-purity fused quartz. We do this because cheap glass is a nightmare—it blocks the shortwave radiation you’re paying for. We also focus on the fit. We can do standard or custom connectors so these lamps just slide right into your existing racks. No one wants to spend their weekend rewiring a whole system. Plus, we keep the length tolerances tight. If a lamp is too loose, it rattles. If it rattles, it breaks. Simple as that.

It’s usually smarter to match the lamp’s duty cycle to your actual production speed. That’s how you get the most bang for your buck.
