Why Gallium Iodide?
Let’s be honest: mercury is a pain. It’s dangerous, it’s a nightmare to dispose of, and it’s a liability on your production line. We swapped the mercury for gallium iodide. Not only does that clean up your waste stream, but it actually performs better. These lamps run hotter to keep the plasma stable, which pushes out a punchy UV-C output. If you’re doing PET blowing or thin-film work, you’ll notice your curing cycles get a lot faster.
Built to Actually Last
There is nothing worse than a lamp that clouds over and loses its punch. That “solarization” effect is usually caused by cheap quartz. We don’t do cheap. We use high-purity synthetic quartz that stays clear. We also tweaked the electrode geometry to stop “sputter”—that annoying buildup on the tube walls. The result? The lamps stay bright longer, and you aren’t spending your weekends swapping out dead tubes. One quick heads-up, though. Watch your power supplies. These lamps are picky about voltage. If your ballast isn’t tuned to the specific impedance of a GaI tube, you’ll see your intensity tank within the first 500 hours. It’s a small detail, but it’s the difference between a lamp that lasts and one that burns out early.

We make these in custom lengths and connector setups so they just slide right into your existing UV arrays. No need to rebuild your whole rig. Plus, it’s a win for your bottom line. No mercury means less hazardous waste overhead and a lower total cost of ownership. Just make sure your cooling system can handle the heat. GaI has a high energy density, so it gets hot—really hot. You’ll want to pull that heat away from your substrate so nothing warps.
